Gua Sha

Gua sha is a traditional East Asian healing technique that involves scraping your skin with a massage tool to improve circulation. This ancient practice is commonly performed on the back, buttocks, neck, arms, and legs. A smooth-edged instrument is used to stroke the skin, usually after applying massage oil. The pressure and motion applied through the tool help to release muscular tension, promote blood circulation, and aid in lymphatic drainage. Gua sha is often used to treat chronic pain and can also boost the immune system and reduce inflammation. It typically results in temporary redness or bruising on the skin, which is considered part of the healing process.
